Starting from 1st March, new electricity prices will be in force in Montenegro. New prices will depend on the package the consumers choose.
In accordance with the law on Energy and General Provisions for Electricity Supply, the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) adopted the Decision on setting prices for the buyers connected to the distribution system.
“With the aim of improving their services and adapting it to consumers’ needs, EPCG introduces for the very first time the right of a consumer to choose one of the offered models of electricity supply. That way it stimulates energy efficiency and reduces budget burden of consumers”, said the representatives of EPCG.
Households and small buyers that/who do not belong to the category of households
As explained, the blue model represents division of tariff elements to lower and higher tariff during the day, depending on the amount of electricity consumption.
“Consumer who chooses this tariff will have by 2% lower electricity price”.
If the consumption exceeds the restrictions, every kWh will be paid by increased price.
The red model means same price during the entire day, every day a week, regardless of the level of consumption.
“The tariff of this model is lower in comparison to the basic model, if the consumer used the lowest tariff minimally”.
The green model represents the electricity price from the Basic model, increased by €0,2 per kWh with the guaranteed delivery of the electricity generated from the renewable energy resources.
As representatives of EPCG state, electricity price in Montenegro currently amounts 60% of the market price and, in accordance with the defined norm new price in specific tariffs is increased by 6%.
“If the consumer doesn’t choose any of the offered packages, electricity consumption will automatically be calculated according to the Basic model”.
EPCG will keep stimulating around 200 thousand households, with 13% discounts on active energy and it will also go on with granting subsidies for vulnerable users.
