Companies that haven’t been prohibited from work during the coronavirus pandemic are obliged to pay off full wages to their self-isolated or quarantined employees, and in cases when employers are prohibited from work, all staff must be paid 70% of their wage, chief labor inspector, Ms Angelina Medjedovic, told Dan daily. She pointed out that employees working from home during the pandemic must not be deprived of their full salary.
When asked to explain what an employee can expect due to the measures taken by the National Coordination Body, in case he/she is currently not working, Ms Medjedovic said that the Law on Mandatory Health Insurance envisaged the right of an employee to a full salary in case of any disease subject to quarantine.
On the annual holiday and whether an employer can ban you from using it due to the pandemic, she explained that the Labor Law says an employer shall adopt the plan of annual holidays not later than 30 April of the calendar year.
