It is up to the political actors in Montenegro to reach a political agreement on submitting a request for an opinion to the Venice Commission and undertake to respect it, the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro has told the RTCG portal. The EU is ready to facilitate that process, the Delegation has stated.

It is recalled that the parliamentary opposition made a decision to boycott the sessions of the Parliament of Montenegro due to the decision of the Constitutional Committee and the Parliament on the retirement of Constitutional Court judge Dragana Djuranovic and the intention of the parliamentary majority to retire two more judges of that court. They did not allow the sessions to be held until that decision was annulled, because they believed that it violated the Constitution.

To adopt the budget, the Parliamentary Collegium decided at the beginning of February to remove the representatives of the opposition, who blocked the work of the Parliament on several occasions, from the sessions for the next 15 days.
