The official start of the implementation of the EU energy support package for Montenegro worth €30m was marked in Vila Gorica.
PM Dritan Abazovic thanked for the support for overcoming the consequences of the energy crisis in the amount of €30m. He pointed out that the support would apply to more than 45,000 citizens.
“Specifically, the support goes to: 40,550 beneficiaries of the lowest pension – €150; 219 beneficiaries of temporary compensation of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund – €150; 454 beneficiaries of financial compensation for the support of fighters – €150; 6,350 families who are beneficiaries of material family support – €350; improvement of energy efficiency in households and the economy sector – €13m; support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the area of energy efficiency”, stated Abazovic.
He emphasized that our most important foreign policy partner was the EU.
“They are always there to show support for the citizens of Montenegro”, he added.
The EU Ambassador to Montenegro, Oana Cristina Popa, said that she was pleased to witness “the final step required for the payment of €27m from the aid package under the accelerated procedure to Montenegro, with a total value of €30m”.
