According to the latest Index of Economic Freedoms 2022 of the Heritage Foundation, as reported by Radio Free Europe, the Montenegrin economy is the least free in the Western Balkans.
Last year, Montenegro was in the 80th place out of 178 countries, while this year it is in the 103rd place out of 177 countries.
When it comes to the countries in the region, Croatia ranks 45th, while Kosovo is 86th. Albania ranks 50th, North Macedonia 53rd, Serbia 59th and Bosnia and Herzegovina 68th. Croatia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina are making progress compared to last year.
