Expired documents will be considered valid

National Coordination Body for Contagious Diseases has adopted the following temporary measures with the aim of preventing spread of the coronavirus and protecting human health and lives: competent authorities in charge of controlling and regulating traffic on roads shall consider expired driving licenses valid provide that the driver has valid insurance policy and proof on the technical check of the vehicle.

  • State authorities, local administration authorities, business entities, public institutions and other legal entities, entrepreneurs and physical persons shall consider valid temporary residence permit and temporary residence and work permits for foreigners which have expired.

If citizens have urgent need for issuing new document, they can refer to the Ministry of Interior via email on [email protected] or dial the following numbers: 020/225 341, 020 203 275 i 020/245-663, every working day from 7am to 3 pm.

Citizens can submit the following requests through portal www.dokumenta.me:

  • Request for issuing birth certificate
  • Request for issuing certificate from the register of citizens
  •  Request for issuing certificate from the register of residences

Delivery of the documents will be carried out quickly, and collection of tax (€2) for citizens who had ordered issuing of birth certificate and certificate from the register of Montenegrin citizens will be suspended.
