Expulsion from sessions will result in salary decrease

Legislative board of the Parliament adopted a cleared version of the Rulebook of the Parliament of Montenegro which entails high monetary fines for those representatives who act inappropriately in the building of the highest legislative body – not only in the session hole, but in all other rooms of the Parliament as well.

According to the Rulebook, a representative with an issued warning will be fined 10% of the salary, the one who has two warnings – 20%, and a representative who is punished with a prohibition on speech will be fined 40% of his salary. The highest fine of 50% of salary will be prescribed to those who are expulsed from the session.

If a representative receives several disciplinary measures, the fines will not be added up, but the highest fine shall apply. Administrative board will have a say in decision on monetary punishments.

This set of new Rulebook measures will prevent incidents such as opposition’s behaviour in the Parliament during their past appearances.
