Father of deceased baby: Even 100 year prison sentence not good enough

Parents of infected babies are not satisfied with the sentences given to four doctors of the Bijelo Polje General Hospital today, pointing out that they are too lenient.

The first instance court has sentenced Tomislav Jeremic and Haka Tahirovic to seven months in prison, and Zvonko Puletic and Jela Cimbaljevic to six months of house arrest. They have been found guilty of failing to prevent the infection of five babies in November 2014, when one baby died.

“I would not be satisfied even with 100 year prison sentence. My child is gone and no one can return him to me. But the court’s moves are incredible – beyond reason. I cannot understand that,” said Slavisa Knezevic, father of the deceased baby.
