Five-year prison sentence for Mandić and Knežević

Leaders of Democratic Front, Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević, have been sentenced to five years in prison, by menas of the decision rendered by the chamber of the judge Suzana Mugoša which found guilty all the accused in the case of terrorism attack. Knežević and Mandić weren’t present at the moment the sentence was pronounced.

Judge Mugoša said that Eduard Shishmakov was punished with a 15-year prison sentence, whereas Vladimir Popov was punished with 12-year prison sentence.

Imposition of sentences

Bratislav Dikić was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Nemanja Ristić and Predrag Bogićević were sentenced to seven years in prison.

Dragan Maksić was entenced to a year and nine months of prison.

One-year prison sentence was passed on Srboljub Đorđević, Milan Dušić and Mihailo Čađenović.

Branka Milić was sentenced to three years in prison.

Kristina Hristić was conditionally convicted.

Judge Mugoša said that the objective of the criminal organization was to frighten the citizens, violate constitutional structures of Montenegro and prevent NATO accession.

As she said, members of the organization were all very countable and aware of their illegal acts.

Special Prosecutor Saša Čađenović requested earlier maximum prison sentences for Shishmakov and Popov.

Attorneys of the accused said that material evidence were contradictory to the statement made by cooperating witness, Saša Sinđelić.
