President of DPS board in Budva Srdja Popovic feels that regardless of the arrests local management is functioning normally.
“The most important thing at this moment, of which I was assured in previous two days, is that ruling coalition is functional and all municipal services are responsibly doing it’s job in best interest of its citizens and tourists”, he said for Pobjeda.
Popovic, who recently initiated the breaking up of the coalition with SDP in this city, thinks that arrests of leaders of the municipality will not affect the already turbulent political scene in Budva.
President of SDP Budva, Mihailo Djurovic, said that arrests will definitely affect the local authorities.
“System of local management is such that operations are dominantly dependent of the mayor, whether it is decision making, decision proposalas, contracts signing or functioning of offices of local authorities. So arrests will very much affect the work of local management”, said Djurovic in a statement to Pobjeda.
Asked to comment on the arrests, he emphasized that country’s priority has to be a rule of law.
“We have full trust in work of state institutions. The guilt is, if determined, individual, and we’ll see what the investigation will find”, said Djurovic.
Chief of SNP Budva Veselin Markovic thinks that arrests significantly influence municipality’s operations, stating that the best option would be that all parties members of the local parliament agree on a technical coalition that would choose leadership for Budva until the elections are held.
