Thanks to the humanitarian campaign launched by ‘Source of life’ NGO, five-member family Radulović from Šume village in the Municipality of Nikšić, now has home.
The campaign was launched last year and was aimed at collecting financial aid for the continuation of treatment of five-year old Viktor Radulović, who has permanent kidney damage from the day he was born.
After media reporting, a great number of businessmen and people of good will collected money for Viktor’s treatment.
‘Source of life’ NGO, in cooperation with the Center for Social Labor and the Municipality of Nikšić, has launched the campaign for the construction of house for Radulović family.
“I am so happy. I didn’t expect this. I couldn’t afford this because I’m disabled”, Mr Ivica Radulović said.
Better living conditions will make Viktor’s treatment much easier and the health of the other two boys, Blagoje (8) and Srđa (1), much better.
Father Ivica says that Viktor’s disease is under control.
“Every three months we take him to the hospital for some analysis. Once a year he has renal scanning. That damage is permanent, it just must not get worse. He has to be careful of infections and catching cold, he has to take care of his eating habits, but he’s good”, Mr Radulović said.
In order to provide normal living conditions, Radulović family breeds cattle, apart from benefits and disability pension they receive from the state.
“We are very grateful to everyone. Thank you for helping us and for making our children happy”, Mr Radulović pointed out.
He hopes he will be able to find a job.
Director of the NGO, Ms Konstantina Vojinović, says it was a pleasure to launch this campaign for Viktor’s better life.
“We still need a double bed and a closet, so we call on people of goodwill to help us with that”, Ms Vojinović said.
Construction of the house for Radulović cost around €18.000.
