According to the latest preliminary data of the Central Bank of Montenegro, CBCG, the net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow in Montenegro from Jan. to Sept. amounted to EUR 218.39 million.
Foreign investors invested a total of EUR 588.8 million in Montenegro, but the final amount is less than the last year’s one (when it was EUR 311.62 million) due to the large outflow of some EUR 370.41 million.
The greatest part of FDI are non-resident investments, based on which Montenegro generated a total of EUR 569.24 million. In particular, EUR 231.87 million was invested in the Montenegrin companies and banks, EUR 133.57 million came form selling real estate in our country, while the inter-company debt has still been pretty much high amounting to EUR 203.8 million.
The largest share of FDI inflows to ME came from Italy (EUR 77.78 million), followed by Hungary (EUR 56.34 million), Turkey (EUR 44.26 million) and Russia (EUR 43.39 million).
