GDP per capita is 45% of the EU average

Gross domestic product GDP per capita in Montenegro, measured by the parity of purchasing power, amounted to 45% of the European average last year and, as reported, it increased in comparison with the previous period.

Nina Vujosevic, the coordinator of the working group for the preparation of the 2020 Economic Reform Program, said that the document, adopted by the Government today, aimed at sustainable and inclusive economic growth that would contribute to reducing the development gap between Montenegro and the European Union.

“Our standard of living is at the level of 45% of the European average,” Vujosevic said after the cabinet’s meeting.

Last year, GDP per capita in Montenegro was at the level of €6,700, in nominal terms.
