The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) harshly condemns the latest statement by the high ranking United Russia party’s official Sergey Zeleznyak. Zeleznyak said that Kosovo Serbs should block Kosovo’s demarcation process with Montenegro. DPS official Nikola Gegaj says that Zeleznyak’s statement is a provocation for the entire Balkans and an attempt at modelling international relations.
He also calls Zeleznyak’s statement unprecedented, arrogant and impudent, adding that they could also serve as a warning not only for Montenegro but for the entire Balkans.
“It seems that ruling United Russia is behind it. They apparently want to discipline us by these aggressive and inappropriate statements,” Gegaj told Pobjeda.
In an opinion piece published on the United Russia’s website, Zeleznyak said that Kosovo Serb representatives, after entering Kosovo government and parliament, should block Kosovo’s demarcation process with Montenegro.
Gegaj sees his statements inappropriate for an MP of such a great state. He reiterated that the demarcation with Kosovo was a done deal for Montenegro.
“International community confirmed the border. The agreement was signed by both the states in Vienna. Representatives of the USA and the EU are constantly calling on Kosovo political parties to ratify the agreement in the Parliament as soon as possible (Albanian parliament speaker Gramoz Ruci did that yesterday),” Gegaj called in mind.
