German engineers are greatly interested in the development of transport system in Montenegro, said the representatives of Germany’s association responsible for planning and development of transport infrastructure during the meeting they had with Angelina Živković, the State Secretary in Montenegro’s Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs.
“We pointed out to the Single List of Priority Infrastructure Projects, encompassing 12 projects from the area of transport, with an estimated value of EUR 3.38 billion,” the Ministry of Transport said in a statement.
German experts were also interested in domestic regulations referring to the planning, construction and maintenance of road infrastructure in Montenegro, ways of funding projects and possibilities for including foreign companies in projects in the area of road infrastructure. They also wanted to find out more about the existing capacities for monitoring such complex projects.
“German experts wanted to know more about our plans for the construction of other sections of the Bar-Boljare motorway, and Ms Živković told them that the Government of Montenegro and Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs have been committed to creating preconditions for continuation of the construction works on the motorway,” the Transport Ministry explained.
Representatives of the Transport Administration (independent state body) also attended the meeting and presented their experience related to the implementation of projects concerning main and regional routes in Montenegro.
