German Parliament adopted the law on ratification of the protocol on Montenegro’s accession to NATO, ending the parliamentary procedure on that issue, the Government’s Public Relations Bureau stated.
Thus Germany has become the 24th country that ratified Montenegro-NATO Accession Protocol.
The Act was adopted at 953rd Bundesrat’s session (the upper house of the German Federal Parliament), without discussion. Majority of MPs who attended the session supported it.
On 2 December 2016, Bundestag, the German Parliament, adopted a draft law on the protocol ratification upon the Foreign Affairs Committee’s recommendation.
The protocol has not been ratified yet by the Netherlands, the USA, Canada and Spain.
