Golubović: Achieved economic stability is the foundation for investment cycle

Healthy business environment, declining unemployment, low inflation, investment growth and financing spending from real sources are all indicators that deserve to be highlighted and praised, said today president of the chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Mr Vlastimir Golubović, during regular annual meeting between Montenegro’s PM, Mr Duško Marković, and the businessmen in the Chamber.

While summing up economic results in 2019, Mr Golubović pointed out that economic stability and economic growth have been fully achieved.

“New investments will be based on the expectations that favorable trends will continue”, added Mr Golubović.

Mr Golubović reminded that Montenegro was making huge steps towards the development of transport infrastructure, which would  contribute to better use of port capacities and Montenegrin railway and would contribute to positioning our country as transit hub if the region.

He stressed the importance of highway construction, which is expected to have multiple effects.

“Energy cable connecting Montenegro and Italy has shown that our economy is able to complete projects of strategic importance. Apart from the economic benefits, undersea cable, together with investments in new hydro, wind and solar plants, will open up possibilities for the expansion of our energy sector and will turn Montenegro into an important energy exporter”, said Mr Golubović.

Speaking about the results achieved in the tourism industry, Mr Golubović pointed out that they were impressive. High-category hotel capacities and other tourist amenities confirm Montenegro’s status of a prestigious tourist destination.

According to him, our country, and Kotor in particular, is recognized as one of the leading cruising destinations in Eastern Mediterranean. Newly built marinas add to the quality of our offer.

“Our country has significantly increased agrarian budget and introduced a set of incentive measures. With more efficient use of available international funds, this creates favorable environment for investing in the area”, said Mr Golubović.
