Good bilateral relations between Montenegro and Palestine will continue

The traditionally good bilateral relations between Montenegro and Palestine will be further enhanced in the coming period, it was said at the meeting of the parliamentary friendship group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the Palestinian Parliament and the Ambassador of Palestine to Montenegro, Rabii Al-Hantouli.

During the meeting, participants particularly expressed readiness for strengthening economic and cultural cooperation, as well as joint work on attracting investors from Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora in Montenegro.

The key issue of the meeting was the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The need for support from the entire international community in resolving this issue was emphasised, as well as the willingness to end the conflict with peace negotiations.

Deputy Parliament speaker Branimir Gvozdenovic pointed out that the Montenegrin authorities regularly monitored the internal situation in Palestine and the region.

He said that Montenegro remained committed to respecting international law and practice and expressed hope that progress in resolving the current conflict between Palestine and Israel would soon be made.

Ambassador Rabii Al-Hantouli expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of the parliamentary friendship group, underscoring that this is an important step in the institutionalisation of the cooperation between the two countries.

He also announced the establishment of a friendship group with the Parliament of Montenegro and the Palestinian Legislative Council.

Al-Hantouli praised Montenegro’s efforts to align Montenegrin laws with European legislation, especially in the areas of human rights and economy.
