Montenegro has firmly embarked on Euro-Atlantic path
A Special Representative for Western Balkans, Mr Matthew Palmer, talked to President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, Montenegro Parliament Speaker, Mr Aleksa Bečić, and Prime Minister, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, and their closest collaborators yesterday. The messages sent refer to the continuation of partnership on the bilateral plan, through the support of Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro as well. It was interesting to find out that some pro-government media missed to report that President Đukanović also had a meeting with Mr Palmer.
NATO flag-burning – continuation
Following a scandal that happened two days ago, when the DPS posted a video footage showing that the advisor to prime minister attended the NATO flag-burning performed by Mr Marko Milačić, another footage was revealed yesterday – the same actors doing the same thing, but with the new minister of capital investment, Mr Mladen Bojanić, involved. Mr Savović, the advisor to prime minister, addressed the public yesterday, admitting that he was there when a NATO flag was burned, but that was in times when his pro-Kremlin party was the opposition. Having in mind yesterday’s statement, one may conclude that Mr Savović now backs NATO. These events were enough for the MP, Mr Nebojša Medojević, to post his opinion on Twitter and be hard on Mr Savović, criticizing his inconsistency.
Disappointed expectations
After the interview of Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Đorđe Radulović, for Vijesti, telling that sanctions against Russia are unlikely to be removed and that the country’s foreign policy won’t change, the Leader of the Democratic People’s Party, DNP, Mr Milan Knežević, who had been convicted of plotting a coup in 2016 alongside the Russian nationals, strongly reacted.
Party positioning
The SD MP, Mr Boris Mugoša, has criticized the proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Civil Servants and State Employees, wondering whether the proposed solution is democratic and in line with the European practice and reforms on the road to the EU. While the SNP says that there are no problems and that it’s normal that every new government recruits its own people, a lawyer of the DNP, “dealing with the history”, has been named as chief cabinet person in the Ministry of Health. There are no obstacles and no worries if they continue like this. There is no better cohesive factor for keeping the coalition in power – than well-balanced party positioning.
While waiting Šaranović
The Prime Minister posted a pretty weird photo yesterday with his ministers from the empty cabinet of the Head of the Property Administration, Mr Blažo Šaranović, criticizing him for not being at work.
Mr Šaranović reacted afterwards, noting that they didn’t announce they were to come and criticized the selfie-twitter actions of Mr Krivokapić and ministers. The entire visit flooded social media and triggered funny reactions.
Defense of Vučić
The portal ‘Borba’, close to the Democratic Front, defended yesterday President of Serbia, Mr Aleksandar Vučić, as only the Serbian tabloids know. The DF also reacted but it wasn’t completely clear why they were defending him and from whom. What matters is that they defend him.
