High official of Montenegrin Government said for “Dnevne novine” yesterday that the Government wouldn’t allow the affirmation of the date which denied the statehood of Montenegro, commenting on the announcement of the President of Serbian national Council, Momčilo Vuksanović about organizing a ceremony to celebrate 100 years since the Podgorica Assembly took place. It would also be an opportunity to celebrate The Day of the Unification of Montenegro and Serbia.
“That is unacceptable. These dates invalidated the statehood of Montenegro and the Government will not celebrate them. The Council and the organizations which advocate for anti-state policy and negation of Montenegrin country will not be financed by the Government. In that context, the Government is going to propose amendments to the law. Serbs in Montenegro are the citizens of Montenegro. They didn’t move here from Serbia, but they are autochthonous nation and their rights can be protected by Montenegro and Montenegro only”, said the high official of the Government of Montenegro.
