Poly Group is a leader in the Chinese market in the areas of tourism, trade, infrastructure, real estate, and culture and it owns 24 hotels an average size of 300 rooms mostly managed by international chains. It also has boutique hotels, more than 40 theaters and operas and 150 cinemas in their ownership and annually provides 100,000 high-end residential units in his country. Having in mind these facts, the meeting was focused on investment opportunities in tourism.
Gvozdenovic presented Montenegro as the fastest growing tourism destination, according to projections of the World Travel and Tourism Council, which has recorded an increase in traffic this year and for which the contribution of this industry to GDP is projected at over 30% in 2025.
“The biggest investments that have already been implemented in our country have been presented, as well as investment opportunities and incentives for investments,” the ministry stated.
The minister expressed his belief that, given the potential of cooperation with Poly Group, and the size and importance of the company, the interest of the People’s Republic of China in Montenegro on multiple fields would be further increased.
“It was concluded that assessments on the significant increase in tourists and investment from the Chinese market in the next seven-year period were realistic,” the ministry said.
Wang Lin Eric said he was proud because the very Poly Group is one of the pioneers of the cooperation with Montenegro, and that their company is one of the main users and promoters of the Plantation’s wines in the country. Thus, the figure of one million bottles distributed was reached two years ago.
They also discussed the area of waste management, given that Poly Group has a lot of experience in the production of clean energy and recycling and that they plan to continue investment in this field. The company has already been working intensively in this field in Serbia.
“In this context, it was pointed out that Montenegro would soon start drawing up a feasibility study for such a project, in accordance with the recently adopted National Waste Management Plan 2020,” the ministry stated.
It was agreed that relevant information and documentation should be exchanged as soon as possible in order for both parties to get relevant and detailed information about the possibilities of both sides and models of cooperation.
Wang Lin Eric invited representatives of the ministry to get more information on the quality of the offer of Poly Group during their next visit to People’s Republic of China.
