Growth in almost all economy sectors

During the last year, growth was achieved in almost all sectors of the economy, particularly in the field of construction and tourism. This was said at the 39th session of the Financial Stability Council, chaired by the governor of the Central Bank (CBCG) Radoje Zugic.

At today’s session, developments that characterise the domestic and international macroeconomic environment, as well as the financial system, were discussed, with particular reference to the banking sector.

“Council members discussed the trends that characterised the real sector in 2017, assessing the GDP growth of 4.4% as extremely positive. Implementation of fiscal consolidation contributes to the stabilisation of public finances, improvement of the country’s credit rating, and positive ratings by the International Monetary Fund,” CBCG stated.

According to preliminary data, the net inflow of foreign direct investments in 2017 amounted to €474.3m, a 27.6% increase compared to 2016.
