Member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and prominent doctor Halil Dukovic will be the party list leader in upcoming local elections in Tuzi, Pobjeda learns.
Citing several sources from DPS, the newspaper reports that Tuzi DPS committee held a sitting on Monday night and that candidates list for local elections in the Malesia area was adopted.
Dukovic is followed by Abedin Adzovic on the list. He currently serves as the chairman of the local assembly. The third candidate for councillor on the list is DPS official Sanda Zejnilovic, whereas prominent party official and former MP Nikola Gegaj is ranked fourth on the list.
The new assembly in Tuzi will have 32 councillors.
The Tuzi borough will become an independent municipality as of 1 September 2018. In the meantime local elections in Podgorica will be held in spring 2018. This means that citizens of Tuzi will vote for Podgorica City Council members and then after several months, they will vote at the elections for the Municipality of Tuzi councillors.
