Hydro power plant “Piva” exceeded the production plan on August, 10 and the current energy value of the accumulation lake amounts 188 million of kWh, which means that the same amount of electricity can be produced from the accumulated water .
“The plan is 78% higher than then the planned six-month production which amounts 365 million kWh”, said Dragomir Blagojević, the director of the hydro power plant “Piva”.
In the next three years, EPCG (Electric Power Company of Montenegro) will invest 10,3 million EUR into the reconstruction and modernization of “Piva”.
“Subject of the contract is the replacement of turbine regulation on all three generators, reconstruction of plant consumption, installation of equipment for the monitoring and new management system”, said Blagojević
The contract will be financed by German development bank “KfW” with 8,5 million EUR and the rest will be provided by the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG).
