Exploratory drilling in the seabed near Ulcinj promises that a large oil field will be found, and there are several other potential deposits on our territory, says State Secretary for Energy and Mining at the Ministry of Capital Investments Marko Perunovic. He adds that the current well in Ulcinj is 4,700m deep.
Optimistically, an economically viable deposit will be found in the formation of fractured carbonates at a depth of 6,500m.There are several other interesting concession areas, from the aspect of oil and gas exploration, and when, depending on the results of the ENI/Novatek well, tenders are called for, the public will be informed in time, Perunovic explains.
He states that after confirming the reserves in the existing reservoir, the next phase is the development of the reservoir, which implies additional wells and the development of a production model.
