Special Prosecutor’s Office asked the High Court in Podgorica to extend the deadline for working up the indictment in Telecom case.
Special Prosecutor Saša Čađenović, had two months to amend the indictment but yesterday he asked for the extension of the deadline.
Indictment against former leaders of Montenegrin Telecom, Oleg Obradović and Miodrag Ivanović, who allegedly took illegally 2,3 million EUR for themselves and others, was brought on June, 19.
Prosecutor Čađenović was clear that the accused were charged with good grounds and that they committed the offence they are charged with. Unlike him, defense attorneys, Zoran Piperović and Dragoljub Đukanović, claimed that the indictment was unsustainable and that thew had the evidence confirming that their clients were not guilty.
Piperović delivered to the Court minutes from the session of the Board of Directors of Telecom where they rendered the decision to sign the contract in question. He also delivered the business plan of Telecom which planned in advance the analysis which was the subject of the contract. He did that because the prosecutor claimed that this analysis didn’t exist and that the accused knew that it wasn’t going to be conducted.
The payout in the amount of 1.840.000 EUR was completely according to the company procedure and Obradović and Ivanović didn’t have decisive roles in that procedure. This is why the Special Prosecutor’s Office returned the indictment.
However, according to the indictment, Obradović and Ivanović purposely abused their positions regarding the disposal of the assets of another person and thereby obtained wrongful gain.
