Integration processes very significant

Process of European and Euro-Atlantic integrations are significant for the stability of the region and set ground for future development, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Srdjan Darmanovic.

Darmanovic took part in a panel Western Balkans: New Battleground of the Hybrid War, held within Forum GLOBSEC in Bratislava.

Darmanovic spoke of challenges that Montenegro and Western Balkans are facing during the last period of European and Euro-Atlantic integrations, in the context of hybrid warfare.

“Darmanovic underlined the significance of integrations for the stability of the region as a basis for future development and pointed out the importance of its further intensification, as the best approach in diminishing the space for application of methods of hybrid warfare”, the statement reads.

At the panel, moderated by higher councillor in the German Council for Foreign Affairs Milan Nič, deputy minister of foreign affairs of BiH Josip Brkic, director of Europe project and permanent advisor in Institute of Humanistic Studies in Vienna Ivan Vejvoda and director of politics in the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies Roland Freudenstein also took part.

“Participation in the Forum represented a good opportunity for holding bilateral meetings with vice prime minister of Slovakian government Miroslav Lajčak, advisor of US vice president for national safety Andrea Thompson, president of Committee for interior safety of the US Senate Ron Johnson, deputy minister of foreign affairs of BiH Josip Brkic and other officials”, the statement reads.

Darmanovic also met vice president of company Microsoft for EU administration John Frank, higher manager for development of international business of Martin company, Jacob Martin, minister of foreign affairs of the regional government of Kurdistan in Iraq Falah Bakir.

“Short meetings with representatives from Europe and the US were also held”.

Darmanovic also took part in gala night that was organized in celebration of traditional Czech and Slovak transatlantic awards.
