If this measure is in the law it will mean that the employee will have to spend three years in the company instead of two as it was until now, before he or she can get a permanent employment contract.
This measure was doubtful even so far because employers were mostly avoiding it.
Namely, instead of giving permanent employment contracts employers would send employees to agencies for renting employees from which they would then take them again as a rented workforce.
It is estimated that there are currently 30.000 employees in Montenegro with temporary employment contracts.
New law also defines in details situations in which the employer can fire the employee, situations in whic sick leave is abused, and fines if the employer is not respecting working hours of the employee and a right to daily and annual rest and vacation.
The law on strangers also changing
Kovacevic also announced that the government should discuss amendments of the Law on strangers on Thursday, and explained that it will be adjusted so that some problematic regulations will be removed from the law.
According to her criteria of unemployed people will be more strict too, and they will be erased from the registry if they refuse the job they are offered.
