Montenegrin Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Andjela Jaksic Stojanovic, expressed full support for the centralised salary calculation system implemented by the Ministry of Finance, stating that there can be no negotiation about the application of the law. She emphasised that this position has been clearly communicated to the Education Union multiple times.
However, she also firmly opposes the reallocation of funds intended for teachers’ salaries to other purposes, especially considering upcoming education reforms. As a result, she proposed to Prime Minister Milojko Spajic that the class teacher bonus be increased from 10% to 12%, and that the bonuses for higher professional titles—mentor, advisor, senior advisor, and researcher—each be raised by 0.2%.
She underlined her commitment to supporting outstanding educators and improving both their financial standing and social status. The Ministry, she said, remains committed to upholding the law while also honouring its promise to advocate for the teaching profession and build a better education system for future generations.
