Joint efforts might bring us to IPARD faster

Montenegrin farmers and manufacturers for two years already have a possibility of using grants through the IPARD program funded by the EU pre-accession funds and the state budget.

In an interview with CdM, Acting Director of the Payments Directorate within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms Danka Perović, emphasizes that the implementation of investments within the IPARD program represents an important incentive for the accelerated development of agriculture and manufacturing output.

Speaking about the current experience when it comes to the procedure for allocating grants and the field control, she urged all farmers to put in hard effort in a way that they would do their best to submit complete documents while applying for grants so that the process might implement a.s.a.p.

“Grants represent an extremely good opportunity for farmers to improve their production in the fastest way possible, as well as their facilities, meeting the EU requirements and to improve their competitive positioning.”

Farmers are greatly interested in the IPARD program, according to her, and so far, there have been two public calls (one related to the primary production, two referring to the manufacturing) that include 264 projects totaling over 28 million euro, while producers will get around 15 million euro support.
