SNP leader Vladimir Jokovic told CdM that the local administration in Budva will survive despite the yesterday’s announcement by the local SNP Committee that the party would leave the ruling coalition.
“I believe that local administration will not be brought down and that we will find a solution, because SNP has never advocated toppling ‘opposition government’ in any municipality,” says Jokovic.
He says he is in contact with people from the Budva SNP Committee. According to him, the municipal budget would be adopted before the New Year.
“After the holidays, we will discuss what the reason for the announcement that SNP would leave ruling coalition in Budva was – whether they did that because of our failures or someone else’s. It is important that the authorities continue to function, that the SNP is a part of local administration and that the opposition at the state level will continue to govern Budva. I expect that we will all together have the strength to overcome this situation,” Jokovic is clear.
As a reminder, the chaos in the ruling coalition was created on Thursday after the chairman of the Budva SNP Committee and the deputy mayor Veselin Markovic, said that the coalition, which was established after the 2016 elections, was broken and that SNP was open to new negotiations.
The City Council’s session, which was cancelled on Thursday, will be held on Saturday.
The local administration in Budva comprises SNP, Democrats, Demos, URA, SDP and Liberal Party.
