“Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vesna Bratic, after dismissing Vasilije Lalosevic from the position of acting director of the Sports and Youth Directorate, no longer has the support of the Socialist People’s Party (SNP)”, SNP leader Vladimir Jokovic has said at the press conference.

He adds that he has discussed Lalosevic’s dismissal with PM Zdravko Krivokapic.

“PM Krivokapic said he was told that Lalosevic was dismissed because his 6-month term of office as acting director expired”, says Jokovic. He adds that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports did not call for a competition. “I also talked to the Minister this morning and she told me: ‘Well, why didn’t Vasko call for a competition, he would have been elected’. So why did you dismiss him if he would have been elected? It is up to the Ministry to call for a competition”, Jokovic points out.

When asked why she fired Lalosevic, Bratic replied “I will give you something different”.
