Resolution for integration of Montenegro in NATO was submitted by members of DPS, SDP, Pozitivna, Bosniacs party and a representative of Albanian parties, and the parliament is supposed to vote about it in September.
Member of SNP Snezana Jonica said that her party is against full membership of Montenegro in NATO, and that their attitude towards this is very clear just like the attitude of the vast majority of citizens.
“Opening the discussion of NATO integrations in the Parliament, through the form of Resolution, is an expression of the need to create an illusion of a significantly higher support to this process than the one that actually exists among citizens, said Jonica to agency MINA.
According to her words, it is a fact that the percentage of the parliament members that already support and that will support the Resolution is significantly higher than the percentage of the population that actually supports NATO integrations.
“It is obvious that some parties and individuals today represent or soon will represent the attitude on NATO that they didn’t even mention in their election programs”, said Jonica.
This way, she thinks, it can happen that the support to NATO integrations will be given even by some parliament members that entered the parliament by the votes of the citizens who are against the joining the Alliance.
“SNP insists on the fact that the will of the majority of Montenegrin citizens must be respected, and that everything else is an illusion that doesn’t have an actual legitimacy”, said Jonica.
