The Council of the High Court in Podgorica was supposed to issue a verdict to the former administration chief of the Municipality of Podgorica Zeljko Vukovic yesterday. He has been charged with abuse of office. However, due to a justified absence of council member Sonja Cveticanin, the judgement will be issued next week, on 23 November.
According to the indictment, the accused Vukovic cost the City of Podgorica’s budget €1m by abuse of office.
The criminal charges against Vukovic were filed by Democratic Montenegro. The party claimed that the Municipality of Podgorica had been left without €1,662,250 of compensation, which was supposed to be paid by the Celebic company.
The compensation for the payment to the Celebic company was calculated by the Public Revenue Office, but Vukovic abolished the decisions twice.
