The Municipality of Gusinje has removed a monument to Jusuf Celic in the village of Vusanje, following an order from the Ministry of Culture and Media. The bust, erected in 2013 without official approval, had previously been marked for removal, but the order was not enforced until now.

Celic is described by some historians as a commander of a militia formed by fascist Italy during World War II, allegedly responsible for crimes against the local Orthodox population. In contrast, Faik Nika, head of the National Council of Albanians, claims Celic was a respected freedom fighter for his community.
