Katnic seized almost €24m in two and a half years

The Special Prosecutor’s Office (SDT), in two and a half years, has launched financial investigations against 175 persons and seized €23,482,205 on the basis of plea bargains in various cases. This information is brought out by the chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnic in the State Prosecutor’s Office’s Bulletin.

According to the document, SDT proposed the High Court to freeze and temporary seize apartments, business premises and 178,065 square meters of land in 2016 and 2017.

“According to the plea agreement, €19,810,047 was seized from the legal entity Tradeunique. In the second case, €385,185 was seized from the physical entity M.M. and €2,191,312 from the Copyright company; €1,096,000 was seized from S.M. Seizure of €3,842,766 is expected to be seized from the Gugi Commerce legal entity. In another case launched against the same legal entity, €2,254,585 is expected to be seized,” the document says.

In six months of this year, prosecutors ordered investigations against 96 people, 44 of which refer to perpetrators of organised crime, 47 for perpetrators of high-corruption crimes and five for money laundering.

The prosecutors also ordered the seizure of one yacht as well as the permanent seizure of 11 apartments in Podgorica.
