Knezevic: Part of opposition would rather join Markovic than DF

The decision of the so-called civic opposition not to respond to Democratic Front’s calls and platform on joint action can be interpreted as its desire and need to develop communication with Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, one of the DF leaders Milan Knezevic told Pobjeda.

He invited his opposition colleagues from URA Civic Movement, Democratic Montenegro (DCG), Demos, Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Socialist People’s Party (SNP) to explain what exactly they implied by “boycott as minimum of opposition action”.

Knezevic asked them if they intend to run in the elections when it fits and to boycott when they find it more favourable. He also asked if they intend to carry out the euthanasia of the opposition through a form of a dialogue with Markovic.

Commenting on the statement by the URA leader Dritan Abazovic that “the civic opposition provided an answer to DF by failing to respond to their ultimate request to declare on its platform by 1 October”, Knezevic said that based on such a statement, he could conclude that Abazovic was formally proposed to be the leader of the so-called civic opposition at the meeting.

“Regardless of the fact that the rest of the civic opposition has fewer MPs than DF alone, I would like to point out that they are not united in the implementation of this activity. For example, United Montenegro and independent MP Aleksandar Damjanovic have a totally different attitude,” Knezevic said.

Asked whether DF will once again invite opposition colleagues and offer them something new, Knezevic said that the opposition alliance has offered a lot of proposals to them so far.
