At yesterday’s 5th session of the parliamentary Security Committee, it was decided to hold a control hearing of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Sergej Sekulović, following the events that ocurred on 8 April during the rally on the main road Nikšić-Podgorica.
The chair of the committee, Milan Knežević, has noted that not many people in Montenegro can feel safe and that it looks to him that reforms in the security sector are creating confusion in a social and political life of Montenegro.
According to him, the events from 8 April represent a major challenge for executive power and other branches of power as well, especially given the violation of epidemiological measures and creating an atmoshere of insecurity, contradiction and confusion, that, he says, have become an everyday matter on the public stage.
“The situation in the security sector is alarming so I cannot describe it as euphoric, but rather hysterical. I have nothing against euphoria, but I do not approve of hysteria sliding towards aggression that makes us feel insecure,” Mr Knežević underlined.
