DPS recently told SDP now is not the time for changes in the government, and that ministers Brajovic and Lazovic will remain in their positions.
The official response of the SDP to this decision will be released after the departure of NATO delegation to Montenegro.
Mr. Konjevic said the response will be defined in the party bodies, and that the Presidency of SDP will discuss it this week.
“With this response, DPS confirmed two things: one is that they had something to do with events during the Congress of SDP, and the other is that they confirmed and further contributed to the fact that the coalition DPS-SDP essentially no longer exists. The government became technical the moment DPS made this decision, and they don’t have our essential support in the government”, Konjevic said on the show ‘Ziva istina’, reports radio Antena M.
When asked how he is experiencing his position in the government – as Interior Minister of the state or as vicepresident or SDP, Mr. Konjevic said:
“I am loyal to the coalition agreement and the politics of the SDP, because the SDP did not violate in its political activities none of the essential things that are there defined”, he said.
Asked about potential post-election partners for SDP, Konjevic said he believes that after receiving NATO invitation, things will change on Montenegrin political scene.
He added he believes both DPS and SDP will have the possibility of broader cooperation with other political parties after the elections, excluding the Democratic Front, because of their actions in the last few months.
“That leaves all those willing to respect several key program guidelines”, Konjevic said.
Asked whether this includes DPS as well, Konjevic answered affirmatively.
