Krivokapić, Bečić and Abazović said not a word about economy

Krivokapić, Bečić i Abazović

The first joint TV appearance of the representatives of the coalition who announced formation of the new govt, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, Mr Dritan Abazović and Mr Aleksa Bečić, according to many people, didn’t tackle many important issues for the citizens of Montenegro. Despite the fact that they won’t keep their promises – Montenegro exiting NATO and withdrawal of Kosovo recognition – citizens of Montenegro couldn’t hear anything about the principles of future economic policy, especially having in mind promises about payouts and recruitment increase, strengthening of the healthcare and education system…

They weren’t talking about the exact plans for mitigating the consequences of the coronavirus on Montenegro tourism, which is an important budget line, how the country’s going to handle debts, how they’re going to ensure regular salaries, pensions, social contributions…

It’s also unclear what’s going to be with the second phase of the Bar-Boljare motorway construction, what’s the plan concerning the valorization of energy resources, whether they’re going to keep up with started projects.

The public also doesn’t have the slightest idea what their plans are in terms of public companies, especially in the energy area. No one of the three leaders explained whether the pro-Serbian opposition bloc is going to fall under pressure of Belgrade and sell the Electric Power Company to Serbia, as announced by Serbia President Mr Aleksandar Vučić long time ago.

They didn’t even discuss the issues of the Airports of Montenegro, Montenegro Airlines, the Port of Bar, the Railways of Montenegro… all of which are quite important for Montenegro citizens and the country’s economy.

What they mentioned during the election campaign was a new currency on our own: “You can’t print your own money as you’re dependent on euro, and you can’t multiply the amount of euro you have not because you wouldn’t like to but because someone else doesn’t allow it,” Zdravko Krivokapić told during the election campaign.
