The fact that Episcopal Council of church headquartered in another state, appoints the prime minister-designate demonstrates the relationship the new prime minister-designate has with the Constitution of Montenegro. If we add to that the fact that some war preachers of the former Yugoslavia sit in that Council, there’s space to expect that present changes could mean return to the evil past. Of course, the new Government will be given 100 days to show if it will deceive the Episcopal council or the public, Mr Ranko Krivokapić, member of the presidency of the Party of European Socialists and honorable president of SDP, said at ordinary session of the PES.
Mr Krivokapić acquainted members of the highest body of the roof organization of European socialists with the current political situation in Montenegro.
“Montenegro has been waiting for so long for the peaceful change of power as an inevitable element of functioning and vitality of democracy. But of course, as elsewhere in the Western Balkans, after autocracies that dealt with the most progressive parts of the society, even those who are not progressive political forces and are threatening foundations of a civil state are allowed to use space in Montenegro. This conference also adopted PES Declaration on the rule of law in negotiations on the multi-annual financial framework within 2021-2027 as key document which distributes funds for the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
