Preliminary data from the MONSTAT Statistica Office show that during the last year the largest number of citizens left Niksic, Bijelo Polje and Cetinje. In the period from January to the end of November 2022, negative natural growth was registered in Montenegro and amounted to -132.
“The biggest difference between the number of immigrated and emigrated citizens in 2022 was recorded in Niksic – 626, Bijelo Polje -310, and Cetinje -241”, MONSTAT says.
From 1 January to 30 November last year, 6,348 babies were born in Montenegro, of which 3,287 were boys and 3,061 girls.
“During that period, the number of the deceased was 6,480, of which 3,369 were male and 3,111 were female”, MONSTAT adds.
This means that a negative natural increase was recorded in the country, amounting to -132. The worst was in Pljevlja (-2, 689) and Niksic (-147).
Negative natural growth was recorded in as many as 17 Montenegrin municipalities, and the positive one in only 6.
It is interesting that in the observed period, the same number of births and deaths were recorded in Ulcinj, 208 each.
In 11 months of last year, there were 3 126 marriages and 587 divorces.
There were no divorces in 12 municipalities: Andrijevica, Berane, Budva, Gusinje, Kolasin, Mojkovac, Petnjica, Plav, Pluzine, Savnik, Tivat and Tuzi.
