Let’s recall all Montenegro’s representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest

The Eurovision Song Contest is the most popular music festival in Europe. This year it will be held in Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv. In the first semi-final, Montenegrin representative, a multimedia artist Slavko Kalezic, will perform the song Space.

On 9 May, Slavko will try to lead Montenegro into the Grand Final.

Until that, let’s recall all Slavko’s predecessors.

Stevan Faddy, “Ajde kroci”

Montenegro’s Eurovision debut was a year after its independence restoration, in 2007, in Helsinki. Stevan Faddy represented it with his song Hajde kroci (Come on, step up).

Faddy did not enter the finals. Serbian representative Marija Serifovic triumphed with her song “Molitva” (Prayer).

Stefan FIlipovic, “Zauvijek volim te”

Stefan Filipovic represented Montenegro in Belgrade in 2008. Unfortunately, his song “Zauvijek volim te” (I love you forever) did not pass in the finals.

Andrea Demirovic, “Just get out of my life”

Andrea Demirovic was the first woman to represent Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest. She performed the song “Just get out of my life” in Moscow in 2009. Andrea did not win the finals.

After Demirovic, Montenegro did not have representatives on the music festival for some time.

Rambo Amadeus “Euro neuro”

In 2012, Montenegro sent Rambo Amadeus to represent it at the contest. The songwriter performed his original compositions “Euro neuro” in Azerbaijan. Although he was remarkable, eccentric and atypical Eurovision singer, Rambo failed to qualify for the finals.

Who See feat Nina Zizic, “Igranka”

Who See hip-hop group and pop singer Nina Zizic represented Montenegro with the song “Igranka” (Party). Despite the fact that the song video was the most viewed on YouTube, it did not manage to qualify for the Grand Final.

Sergej Cetkovic, “Moj svijet”

Sergej Cetkovic performed “Moj svijet” (My world) in 2014 in Copenhagen. After five unsuccessful attempts to reach the finals, Cetkovic finally succeeded in that.

Knez, “Adio”

Knez also managed to reach the finals, singing “Adio” in Vienna in 2015.

Highway Trio, “The real thing”

Young band Highway Trio represented Montenegro in Stockholm last year with the song The Real Thing. Unfortunately they failed to reach the finals.
