According to the statistics of the Internal Police Control, the lowest number of complaints by citizens about the behaviour of police officers in the last ten-year period were recorded in 2017, the head of the Interior Ministry’s Internal Control Department Milan Adzic told Dnevne Novine. He added that this proved evident gradual trend of reducing the number of complaints on an annual basis.
“The lawful, professional, consistent and impartial treatment of the internal control of the police in the performance of the law-stipulated tasks, at the same time, has the character of general preventive activity of this unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in suppressing unprofessionalism and unlawful work of police officers,” Adzic said.
