A large forest fire broke in the pine forest between the Plavi Horizonti complex and FC Sloga football pitch on Monday afternoon. Residents of the Lustica Bay tourist complex were evacuated from the village for security reasons.
A strong wind makes fire extinguishing difficult. Firefighters were making great efforts to prevent the spread of fire towards the settlement, Radio Tivat reports.
The portal also reports that a special vehicle from Tivat airport is to be stationed in the tourist resort on Monday night. Firefighters will have a long night, but the worst situation seems to be ended.
President of the Municipality Snezana Matijevic thanked the firefighters from Tivat and neighbouring municipalities, as well as to the people who participated in the great operation on Monday.
Tivat police officers regulated traffic, thus contributing to the campaign.
“All available units from Tivat, Kotor, Budva, Herceg Novi and other nearby cities are in the field,” Tivat Civil Protection and Rescue Service told CdM.
