MAC Centaurus has arrived in Montenegrin waters

MAC Centaurus, a geophysical/hydrographic survey vessel, has arrived in Montenegrin waters to carry out a geophysical surveying for 10 days in line with the Working Program of the Concession Agreement for Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons, concluded with the Italian-Russian consortium Eni-Novatek in Sept. 2016.

“The aim of this survey is to determine mechanical and physical properties of soil. Surveys will include two micro cavities where the research drilling will take place next year, according to existing assumptions,” the Montenegrin Hydrocarbon Authority said in a statement.

The environment protection measures have already come into operation, as usual, while the Maritime Safety Department of Montenegro marked the safety zone and informed all the vessels about the planned research activities.
