Parliament Speaker and leader of the New Serbian Democracy, Andrija Mandic, has announced ahead of today’s session of the United Nations General Assembly, where the Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide will be discussed, that they will fight for a better future for the Serbian people.
In today’s interview for Vijesti, Mandic said that he had told PM Milojko Spajic that the political bloc to which he belongs opposes the Resolution on Srebrenica, because supporting its adoption would not be a good choice, but that since they had no ministers in the government, they could not vote on such a decision.
Mandic did not answer the question of whether he would follow the example of the leader of the Democratic People’s Party, Milan Knezevic, who announced that if Montenegro supported the Resolution, he would leave power.
Mandic said that Knezevic had a legitimate right to lead a policy that he considered correct and responsible towards his voters, stressing that he was leading a policy that was best for the Serbian people.
Mandic added he saw no reason why the Government should not be reshuffled in June.
He stressed he had not yet received an invitation to the Great Serbian Assembly in Belgrade.
Mandic stated that the idea of cultural integration of the Serbian people should not worry anyone.
