Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will be known by the end of November. The party will discuss the issue with coalition partners in the next few days, Prime Minister Dusko Markovic said.
“Whoever is selected as the candidate, that person will certainly win the presidential election in the spring,” Markovic said in an interview with Pobjeda.
Asked about the decision of the Democratic Front to break the Parliament boycott and attend the Prime Minister’s question time and whether DPS would discuss the adoption of the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations with DF as well, Markovic said that his position on DF political and any other activity was known.
“Some members of this coalition are accused in the cases of terrorism attempt and money laundering, so they have eliminated themselves. If DF delegates some other people who are not covered by these proceedings, I would not refuse to talk,” Markovic said.
He added that DPS was ready to talk to opposition within the institutions of the system.
“Not at some ‘tables’ mentioned by the leader of Democratic Montenegro who says that he would not sit at the table with me. As far as that is concerned, I have not invited him, nor will I,” said Markovic.
He said that he was sitting at the table with the Vice-President and US Secretary of State, the President and High Representative of the European Commission, the founder of CERN, as well as with hundreds of citizens of Montenegro, who are benevolent, hard-working and educated and discussing all life issues.
“That is my company. In order for someone to be at my table, he/she must be primarily well-mannered. Being young cannot be an excuse for being bad-mannered,” the PM said.
