The quality of life of Petnjica citizens improves on a daily basis, which means that the municipality is not only declaratively formed but it achieves its goal – comfortable and better life for the residents of this region. This was said at a meeting of the Prime Minister Dusko Markovic and the municipality leaders, which was organised on the occasion of the Petnjica Day. The mayor of Petnjica Samir Agovic, the chairman of the Municipal Assembly Erol Muratovic and vice-president of the municipality Musli Kalic attended the meeting.
Congratulating the municipal leaders and citizens, Markovic pointed out that Petnjica recognised new opportunities for a higher level of social and development cohesion.
The PM expressed his satisfaction that after his visit to the municipality, works on the first section of the Berane-Petnjica road began and pointed out that they were expected to be completed by the end of October. In addition, commenting on the need for further improvement of the road infrastructure, Markovic underscored that he supported the activities that should lead to the development of technical documentation for the reconstruction of the local road from the Bioce site to Petnjica.
The municipality leaders thanked Markovic for his personal commitment to improving the situation in Petnjica and pointed out good cooperation with relevant ministries. They also indicated the need for the adoption of spatial planning documents. Also, Agovic said that the municipal authorities were committed to agriculture and added that he expected that the establishment of the Agro Business Centre would additionally stimulate and help farmers.
Markovic stressed that the development of projects in this and in other municipalities in the north would have both his personal and government’s support. The officials agreed that local governments have to be more agile in attracting foreign investment, which should provide a new quality, knowledge and new jobs.
