Markovic: If the prosecution won’t, I will sue Sukovic

This means that there is no evidence for involvement of government’s vice president Dusko Markovic or secretary of the Bureau for operational coordination Veselin Veljovic, which is what former chief of the police unit for fight against organized crime claimed, whose statements the prosecution based the case upon, although it was closed due to lack of evidence some time ago, it was reported by weekend edition of newspaper Novine.

After this information was published, Markovic said in a statement for weekend edition of newspaper Novine that the truth was confirmed and that the initiator of these allegations should be held responsible for “false charges”.

“Prosecution finally confirmed the undisputed truth. It remains to be seen whether the prosecution will protect the citizens and institutions in this case because the false charges against me as the vice president of the government were also attack on the country”, said Markovic.

Vice president of the government said that if the Prosecution doesn’t press charges against Sukovic, he will.

Supreme public prosecution started investigating “Montenegro Tobacco Company” in Mojkovac in 2010. After three and a half years of investigation it was found that there was no illegal activities there. Although it was once closed, the case was brought to public’s attention again recently by Sukovic, claiming that he was once in charge of investigating operations of factory in Mojkovac.
